Platforms
Webflow: posting rules and settings
What a Webflow channel accepts in Postemi: media, limits, required fields, and the fields of the settings object for the API.
Beta
New in Postemi and not yet tested with many sites. Tell us if something does not work.
Basics
Platform
Webflow
Character limit
The platform does not specify a general limit.
Media
The cover is the image setting or the first picture, 4 MB at most (Webflow skips a bigger one). Other pictures follow the text in the body; a video is added as a link.

Rules
- You connect with a Site API token (Site settings > Apps & integrations > API access; Sites: read, CMS: read and write). One token connects one site.
- The post becomes a CMS item in the chosen collection: the title is its name, the text goes into a Rich text field, the cover into an Image field, a short summary into a summary or excerpt field when the collection has one.
- A collection with other required fields is refused before anything is written. Make those fields optional in Webflow, or choose another collection.
- With status "published" the item goes live at the scheduled time; with "draft" it is saved as a staged draft.
- Beta: not yet tested with many sites.
Settings fields
These fields go into the post's settings object, alongside the __type field. In the UI, you fill in the same ones in the channel's settings section.
| Field | Type | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| collection | string (id) | yes | The collection to post to (the collections function lists them). |
| title | string | yes | The item name, up to 256 characters. |
| slug | string | no | a-z, 0-9 and dashes. Empty: made from the title. |
| status | "published" | "draft" | no | Defaults to "published". |
| bodyField | string | no | Slug of the Rich text field for the text (the fields function lists them, with { id } of the collection). Empty: post-body, body or content, else the first Rich text field. |
| imageField | string | no | Slug of the Image field for the cover. Empty: main-image, thumbnail or a similar field, else the first Image field. |
| summaryField | string | no | Slug of a Plain text field for the summary. Empty: post-summary, summary or excerpt when the collection has one. |
| summary | string | no | Up to 250 characters. Empty: the start of the post. |
| image | { id: string; path: string } | no | The cover image. Empty: the first picture of the post. |
Examples
Each example is one item in the POST /public/v1/posts request's posts array. The envelope around it is always this:
{
"type": "schedule",
"date": "2026-09-15T09:00:00.000Z",
"shortLink": false,
"posts": [ /* the item below */ ]
}{
"integration": { "id": "<channel-id>" },
"value": [{ "content": "<p>The text of the post.</p>", "image": [] }],
"settings": { "__type": "webflow" }
}The channel ID comes from the channel list, and the path values for images and videos from media upload. The exact schema for the connected account comes from the settings schema endpoint. From the command line, the same thing is the --settings flag. See the CLI examples.
