Schedule Social Media Posts with Codex
- Add the Postemi MCP server or the CLI in a minute
- Codex lists channels, adds media and schedules posts
- Works from your terminal, IDE or a codex exec script
How do I connect Postemi to Codex?
Add Postemi to Codex
One command writes the entry to ~/.codex/config.toml.
codex mcp add postemi --url https://mcp.postemi.com/mcpThen just ask Codex
Once connected, Codex calls the Postemi tools. Scheduled posts go out on time, even after you close the chat.
Done. I found your X and LinkedIn accounts and scheduled both posts for 9:00 tomorrow. Want me to save a version for Instagram as a draft too?
- List my connected channels
- Plan a week of posts about our launch
- Save this as a draft instead

Connect your accounts in Postemi once. From then on Codex can post to any of them, 20 platforms today, without a separate setup per network.
- Each account keeps its own rules and character limit, and Codex reads them first.
- One request can go to several platforms, with the text adapted to each.
- New accounts you connect in Postemi show up for Codex at once.

What can Codex do with Postemi?
Draft, schedule or publish
Codex creates a post as a draft, schedules it for a time you name, or publishes it right away. Ask for a draft when you want to check it first.
Preview per account
Before it creates anything, Codex can show what would go out on each account: the text, the media and the character count.
Reads your calendar
Codex sees what is already scheduled, in your time zone, so it can find a free slot or move a post.
Knows each platform's rules
Postemi tells Codex the character limit and the options of every connected account before it writes.
Images and video
Codex adds media from a link, or gives you an upload link for a file on your own computer.
Workspaces and client groups
If you manage several brands, Codex lists your workspaces and client groups and works in the one you pick.
What is the Postemi MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI agent use outside tools. Postemi runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.postemi.com/mcp. Codex connects to it, and from then on it can list your channels, read your calendar and create posts in your Postemi account.
The server runs on Postemi's side, so there is nothing to install for it. You sign in to Postemi in the browser, or use an MCP key, and that decides the workspace Codex works in. Your social accounts stay connected in Postemi itself: Codex never sees their passwords.
Postemi has no built-in AI writer, on purpose. Codex writes the posts, Postemi schedules and publishes them.
How Codex uses Postemi
Once Postemi is connected, Codex finds the tools by itself and calls them when you ask for a post.
- Reads your connected accounts and each one's rules
- Checks the calendar and your time zone before it picks a time
- Can show a preview per account before it creates a post
- Saves a draft, schedules, or publishes now, as you asked
- Adds images and video from a link, or from an upload link you open

Summarize the pull request we just merged for users, and schedule it as a LinkedIn post for tomorrow at 10:00.
