Deleting your account

After signing in, open the Profile settings and start the deletion in the account deletion section. You can also disconnect social accounts separately; this deletes the access and refresh token stored in Postemi.

Disconnecting a YouTube channel and revoking Google access

You can remove the YouTube channel in Postemi, on the Accounts screen. This deletes the Google OAuth access and refresh token stored with us, the connection ends, and Postemi can no longer publish videos or retrieve analytics data for the channel concerned. YouTube publications scheduled for the future cannot be carried out. If this was the last connected YouTube channel of that Google account in the workspace, Postemi also revokes the permission with Google itself through Google's revocation endpoint. We likewise delete the tokens if the permission ends on its own or becomes permanently invalid.

You can also revoke Postemi's access to Google data on the Google Account permissions page. Revoking on Google's side immediately ends Postemi's further access. If you also want the connection data stored in Postemi to be deleted immediately, remove the YouTube channel in Postemi, or write to [email protected] from your registered email address.

We delete the OAuth tokens and the data obtained from the YouTube API that belong to a revoked or ended YouTube connection from our active systems without undue delay, and at the latest within 7 days of the revocation. For YouTube channels that remain connected, we request the profile data obtained from the YouTube API (the channel name and profile picture) from YouTube again every 7 days; if the refresh persistently fails because the permission has ended, this data is deleted automatically after 25 days at the latest. This data disappears from the encrypted backups at the end of the normal backup cycle of up to 30 days, and we do not restore it to active use. Videos already published on YouTube are not deleted automatically: you can delete them directly on YouTube.

If you cannot sign in

If you cannot sign in, write to [email protected] from your registered email address. We may ask for further information to identify you. As a rule, we fulfill the request within one month.

What is not deleted

Deletion does not extend to data that we must keep because of a legal obligation or to protect legal claims, or to content already published on a social platform. The latter must be deleted on the platform concerned.
